TV Review Welcome to TV Review! I'm Meucci, and I'm an avid TV watcher. Sounds like I just joined a meeting. This site is dedicated to those without cable TV. All are welcome, but I only recap and list what's on TV for the free networks: ABC, CBS, CW, FOX, NBC.

The Voice: Last Performances by the Final Four

The night started off promising on The Voice with the four coaches joining forces in singing “Under Pressure” by Queen (and David Bowie). The men sounded amazing, Christina Aguilera did not shine. She appeared to be having trouble hearing, and once she joined the song I had a problem listening.

Continuing to separate themselves from American Idol, each finalist sang an original song and a duet with their coach. It was a good combination and it worked. Brad Paisley, Pitbull and Ne-Yo also appeared (not together, thank goodness!).

First up with his original song was Javier Colon singing “Stitch By Stitch.” It was a good song, but it was a bit boring. It appears that Coach Adam Levine has finally drilled it into Javier’s head that he needn’t add runs to every song he sings. The result is a much more radio worthy song.

The Voice: Final Four Announced

After a short intro by President Obama (okay, not really an intro to The Voice, I’m thrilled the troops are coming home), we got to find out the final four contestants for season 1 of The Voice. We also found out they are already starting auditions for season 2, that’s good news too.
Things changed a little as the coaches were now turned into judges of their own teams. Each coach was given 100 points to split between their final two. Another 100 points were then split up according to public votes to determine who would advance to the finals. This is all a bit like trying to figure out Google’s algorithm and can fall by the way side by next season hopefully.

Cee-Lo Green - NBC "The Voice"First up were Nakia and Vicci Martinez in what I thought was the tightest race. Coach Cee Lo had to announce his points first. He gave Nakia the slight edge with 51 points to Vicci’s 49 votes. Then came the apologies and explanations to Vicci (and why this is unnecessary). When the public votes were counted Vicci Martinez whooped Nakia by a total of 124 to 76. That surprised me a little, but I really do like Vicci and think she is a contender to win The Voice.

The Voice Semi Finals: Nakia & Vicci Martinez Shine Again

I love the fact that things are moving quickly on The Voice. That is to say the competition as a whole is whittling down contestants fast. The show itself seems to drag on with the coaches even running out of things to say most of the time. Carson Daly is no help at stalling, but then he can barely get out the phone numbers to vote correctly.

Tonight we saw two leave from Team CeeLo and Team Adam after last week’s performances. Then there were ten performances to watch, including the coaches. Maroon 5 premiered “Moves Like Jagger” with Christina Aguilera (for some reason). Later Blake Shelton sang “Honey Bee” just for fun.

The Voice: Frenchie Davis, Beverly McClellan, Xenia & Dia Frampton Move to the Semi-Finals

Right at the beginning of The Voice tonight Team Christina Aguilera were called to the stage to find out their fate. Things seemed to be moving right along as Carson Daly named Beverly McClellan safe by the U.S. voters. I was not surprised. Bev has great stage presence and a big fan base. Things slowed down when Christina pulled out tears that were more fake than….well you finish that sentence. Finally she used her save on Frenchie Davis, sending Raquel Castro and Lily Elise home. Frenchie Davis is a pro. You gotta go with the pro.

Time to get this party started!

Tonight featured:

Cee-Lo Green - NBC "The Voice" Team Cee Lo Green VS Adam Levine - NBC "The Voice" Team Adam Levine

First up for Team Cee Lo were sister act Tori and Taylor Thompson singing “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy” in the style of The Andrews Sisters. It was a little too much show for me. More like the dreaded theme park performances from Idol.
