UPDATE: I’m doing some site maintenance as I move to my own self hosted site. Thanks for making it possible, and for your patience during the switch!

Meucci authorI like TV, obviously, that’s why I started this blog. I don’t like to pay monthly fees for TV, so if it’s not on network television or online free, I won’t be watching. There is too much for me to enjoy without adding a monthly fee to my TV watching habit. Let’s face it, if I had cable I would likely get stuck in the land of “Law & Order” and never be heard from again!

“How can any intelligent person possibly watch this much TV?” you must be asking yourself. Well, I worked physical jobs all of my life until my back finally gave out permanently. There are many days now when I can’t get out of a lying position for most of the day. So…I look at the TV as a sort of buddy that gets me through it.

I am truly a sucker for talent shows, especially when an underdog wins. I also enjoy seeing true talent bare its face on shows like American Idol or America’s Got Talent. The worst part for me, as is for most I suspect, is the incessant need for producers to feed us the sob stories and hide some talent from us.

My other reality TV favorites include: Big Brother (though I don’t update much till the finale, not going to pay for live feeds), The Amazing Race, Survivor, Hell’s Kitchen, Biggest Loser and The Voice.

The cooking shows have surprised me the most. Though I’ve always enjoyed cooking shows on the local PBS station, I wasn’t sure I’d like a competition. I do…. and I think Gordon Ramsay is hot. Don’t judge me. So yes, I do post on Hell’s Kitchen and Kitchen Nightmares.

I’m not a pure reality TV fan, I also love dramas and sitcoms. The networks have basically given up paying for good writing teams though. There are a few fantastic dramas out there, including: Criminal Minds, Law&Order: SVU, Law&Order: Criminal Intent, CSI (the original one in Vegas), Medium and Chuck.

Most of my favorite sitcoms have gone to syndication now. There is a real need for the old fashioned sitcom to come back to network TV. I do enjoy The Office… and I love Wipeout, there, I said it. Not really a sitcom, but most definitely some of the finniest stuff on TV.

I update after all of my favorite reality TV shows, especially the talent shows. I also live Tweet during the show. Follow me on Twitter here: TVReviewProgram. You may also contact me with any questions or suggestions you have, thank you in advance: Meucci @ tvreviewprogram dot com.
